Dianne with Riff and Charm

Wistwin is located just outside Raleigh, North Carolina.  We have been showing and breeding Shetland Sheepdogs since 1965.  Founded originally on old Sea Isle and Pocono bloodlines, and moving over past years through Florida, Alabama, and Nebraska, Wistwin today consists of solely sable Shelties.

To date, we have bred or finished 62 AKC Champions and 6 Candian Champions.  While we exhibit in conformation only, some Wistwin Shelties have gone on to major achievements in the Agility or Rally ring with their new owners (12 with MACH and/or ADCH title or higher)

At Wistwin, our focus is to create that elusive Sheltie expression that draws the eye, and movement that is beautiful to watch.   Sweetness of temperament is also of paramount importance.  We work very hard to choose bloodlines that are free from genetic problems, and we health-screen our dogs for normal hips, eyes, vWD, MDR1, and thyroid issues.

We have bred and/or finished 44 American (AKC) and 5 Canadian champions, and have bred 9 with Agility Championships.    Since we believe in sharing our good ones, a number of these have been coowned with other Sheltie breeders, with the added benefit of forming some lovely friendships.
